Walkovers for 1st XV and Ladies

East London's second team the Wyverns and third team both recorded victories over tough opponents in Shepherd Neame Merit League matches on Saturday (14 Jan).
The Wyverns won 17-5 at the Memorial Ground in West Ham against Chingford 2s. Outside centre Craig O'Donnell opened the scoring for the home side with the conversion added by fly-half Alex Pearmain. Further tries by second row Dave Gibson and blindside flanker Rob Yiannakou secured the points.
The third team won 27-22 away at Wanstead 3s thanks to tries from Jim Crick, John Isaacs, Sam Green, Ed Crook and Oliver Kelly. Kelly added one conversion.
East London's first team were awarded an away win walkover when opponents Ilford failed to raise a team on the morning of the match.
East London Ladies recorded a home win walkover on Sunday because opponents Harlow had insufficient players.
There is no league action for East London teams until 28 and 29 January, though the Wyverns are in action on Saturday (21 Jan) at the Memorial Ground against Harlow 2s in the quarter-final of the Essex RFU 2nd XV Cup. Kick-off is 2pm.
