East London Vixens broke their duck for the season with a 14-38 away victory over Millwall Ladies on Sunday.
Wearing their new kit for the first time, the win was a reward for hard training and steadily improving performances in recent matches.
Two tries from centre Lizzy Read and others from lock Steph Smith, scrum half Aoife Farrell, props Katie Walsh and Christine Kizito and four conversions from Farrell secured the win.
The victory puts the Vixens in sixth place in the Women's National Challenge London and South East 1 league table ahead of a match at the Memorial Ground in West Ham on Sunday 18 November against Cuffley Ladies. Cuffley are one place below the Vixens.
