Head coach relishes battle against former club

East London head coach Eddie Gooby is looking forward to seeing his former team when London 3 Essex league leaders Chelmsford come to the Memorial Grond in West Ham on Saturday (20 October).
Eddie has great respect for all the players he coached at the club for many seasons and he is pleased they are starting to reach their the potential individually and as a squad.
Said Eddie: "I had a great time at Chelmsford but I'm really excited by what's happening at East London and the great squad of players here. I am really pleased with our progress to date and the massive development of the squad in such a short space of time. Every week has seen an improvement in this great group players and they've not let me or themselves down."
Chelmsford, unbeaten after five games, will be a massive test this week for East London, who sit fourth in the league table. Many of the visiting players have played at two leagues higher than the home squad. Added Eddie: "We have nothing to fear but lots to gain from this game. We have the belief in ourselves but we have to take our performance to the next level. Whatever happens, we will enjoy the experience and take all the positives we can."
The match on Saturday kicks off at 3pm. In other games, East London's second team the Wyverns visit Thurrock 2s and the 3rd XV visit Woodford 3s. There in no league fixture for the Vixens ladies side on Sunday.
