East London RFC’s women’s team the Vixens ended their 2023/24 league campaign with an away walkover victory over London Welsh Women.
The match was due to take place on Friday evening (19th April) at Old Deer Park in Richmond but the home side conceded. The fixture was a re-arranged game after the original on 24th March was abandoned on 55 minutes because of a serious injury to a London Welsh player.
The victory leaves the Vixens at the end of the season in eighth position in Women’s National Challenge 1 South East (North) with 30 points from 18 fixtures, having won five and lost the rest.
They clocked up 269 points and conceded 466. They scored 48 tries across the season with 12 players contributing. Leading try scorer was inside centre Freya Challis with 13 followed by outside centre Whitney Bennet on 11.
