East London Rugby Club’s women’s side the Vixens are this month introducing potential new recruits to the game of rugby.
They are hosting Try Rugby Days at Memorial Park in West Ham on Saturday 10th August and Saturday 17th August for those who have never played the sport before.
The sessions are being staged with Kings Cross Steelers RFC who share use of the clubhouse in Memorial Park, which is five minutes from West Ham Station.
You are welcome to attend the sessions whether you are new to rugby, a seasoned veteran looking to get back into it, or just simply want to give it a try. The sessions will act as a taster for a Pathway to Rugby programme operated by the Vixens and the Steelers.
Members of the Vixens and the Steelers will meet potential new recruits at West Ham Station at 12.45pm on both days and walk you to the park. The sessions will comprise of fun skills and game play. The aim is to finish at 3.30pm followed by drinks in the clubhouse.
You do not have to attend both sessions. There will be experienced coaches on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Lauren Hatch, East London Rugby Club’s Women’s Rugby Officer, said: “Both East London RFC and Kings Cross Steelers RFC are welcoming for all, regardless of age, experience, or gender identity. The Pathway to Rugby programme is a successful way of finding new people who want to play for the East London Vixens.”
