Recognition for playing milestones or outstanding contributions

Former East London RFC Club Captain Mal Burnett became the latest recipient of a gold ceremonial honours cap on Saturday (16 March).

The club are presenting silver and gold caps to past and present players who have achieved the milestone of either 50 or 100 appearances for the men’s first team or Vixens ladies or for making outstanding contributions to the club.

Mal received his cap at the clubhouse in Memorial Park, West Ham, from Club Chair Simon Crick. Mal, who played at hooker, captained the club in seasons 1990/91, 1993/94, and 1994/95.

Mr Crick said: “We are delighted to be able to award these honours caps in recognition of past and present service to the club. We have many former and current players who qualify for and deserve them and we will be presenting more in the months ahead at matches and at club functions.”
