NICK BRACKEN APPOINTED ESSEX COUNTY PRESIDENT

Gary Bird23 Aug 2022 - 19:17

Ambassadorial role for season ahead

East London Rugby Football Club have congratulated club President Nick Bracken OBE on his appointment as President of Essex County Rugby Football Union for the 2022/23 season.

The appointment was agreed at the Essex County Annual General Meeting on Monday (22 August) and Nick, left of picture, succeeds Alan Price from Harlow RFC.

Nick should have taken over as President at the start of the 2020/21 season, but this was delayed with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Nick said: "It is an honour and a privilege for me personally, and for East London RFC, to be taking up this very exciting role and I thank Essex County RFU for having faith in me. I thank Immediate Past President Alan Price for all his great work and being a true ambassador for the county."

The new role doesn't mean Nick is lost to East London RFC where he is continuing his ambassadorial role as Club President.

East London Chair Simon Crick said: "We congratulate Nick and wish him all the best in his new role. We are looking forward to supporting him when called upon."
