This was a well deserved victory

The win was extra sweet for head coach Eddie Gooby as it came against the team where he served as director of rugby.
The home side dominated the game from the off. Inside centre Lachlan McKenzie burst through two tackles on eight minutes to score under the posts. Fly-half Ryan Billinghurst converted.
East London continued to have plenty of possession but failed to get the points they deserved until 33 minutes. Good work from the pack created the opportunity for prop Mantas Urbonavicius to score his first try for the club. The conversion was missed from wide left.
They extended their lead five minutes into the second half. Scrum-half Will Brown sent through a low kick which the slow turning Chelmsford defence failed to deal with. The chase for the ball was won by full back Max Stanyard and he passed to outside centre Kevin O'Donoghue to score. Billinghurst's conversion attempt hit the post from the left hand side.
Chelmsford's first points on the hour was fortuitous. An attempted kick through by Will Brown hit a Chelmsford forward and was scooped up for a breakaway try which was converted.
The score only spurred the home side on and a drive by the forwards took them over the try line with Urbonavicius coming up with his second score. The conversion was missed.
With only pride to play for the visitors added another unconverted try on 76 minutes. But the final score of the day went to East London. Another teasing kick by Will Brown was chased by right wing Sean Cooper. At first he appeared to have overrun the ball but as he was clattered by a visiting defender he managed to reach back and score. Replacement back Alex Pearmain, playing at left wing, converted from the right touch line.
Head coach Gooby said: "The game was built up as a rivalry between myself and my old team, but they a great bunch of players here and it was nice to beat the unbeaten league leaders. We put our bodies on the line and produced a great team performance to move to third in the table. We've picked up a few knocks and we'll have to see who is available for a tough game at Canvey Island on Saturday."
