East London's 2nd XV got back to winning ways with a hard fought away win against nearby rivals Campion. Following early pressure from the host team, East London scored their first try of the afternoon with a well worked forwards try, started off with a 5 man line out in Campion's 22 and several quick phases allowing Dan Bracken to bulldoze over in the corner and Walter Scott to add the extras.

The second try came after a period of sustained attack by East London and after a quick tap penalty Bracken again crashed over the give the visitors a 0 - 14 lead. The score could and should have been higher with the East London back line cutting through Campion, at times with ease. Several opportunities went to waste with good defending from Campion or fractional decisions going against East London. Instead of East London adding to their tally, Campion managed to pull a try back just before the break with their forwards forcing their way over the line to finish the half 7 - 14.

In the second half Campion had a lot more territory and possession with the advantage of the down hill slope and kept East London pegged back in their own half for much of the second period. However, resolute defending from the entire East London team kept the scores as they were for 30 minutes until a mistake during East London's own defensive scrum in their 22 let Campion capitalize and bring the score to 12 - 14.

With the game drawing to a close there was time for another try for each team with first Walter Scott bringing his personal points total for the day to 11 by scoring in the corner for East London and then converting with yet another excellent kick, to put the result beyond doubt. Then with the last play of the game, Campion scored again from a scrum but without being able to add the extras.
